Minutes: ITMC Meeting on April 20, 2000
The ITMC Meeting was held in the Grimes Building at 1:00pm
The meeting was chaired by Leon Schwartz

2. ITS Update – Rich Varn
Rich Varn provided an update on the IT Department budget bill, there
is no current recommendation on the bill as yet.
The actual money that the IT Department has is 13.2 million, 2.1 Y2K
funding, 2.7 RIF.
Rich spoke on the several surveys that have been circulated to state
agencies.
Rich gave a thank you to all agencies for their support to the RSM McGladrey’s survey and Wes Hunsberger’s server farm survey. Ken Adrian talked about the Professional licensing project. Tom Shepherd’s Goverance survey can be filled out on the website.
3. ICN Update – Tony Crandell
Tony Crandell spoke on the history of internet in state government.
Larry Gund and George Covert also spoke on that topic.
Mike Bacino then talked about the Internet service provider problems that had been corrected to date and what steps the ICN was taking to increase capacity.
4.Targeted Service – Dan Combs & Linda Plazak
Dan Combs spoke on the IowAccess 13, aka Iowa Resource House. This project has been rolled into the larger program Targeted Service Delivery.
This is a project which will allow citzens of Iowa to access resource provider information from the government and the communities via the internet. This project is in the process of consolidating data that already exist.
We are distributing survey that will help us identify potential participants. There are a number of government and community groups that are taking part in the survey. 5. IT Grant Writing – Rebecca Walsh
Rebecca Walsh of the ITD spoke on the IT Grant Process and gave a presentation on how state agencies can use the IT grant assistance program and how the process works. Her Powerpoint presentation is attached.

8. OTHER ISSUES
Neither Jim Day or Ken Paulson were in attendance to discuss the 1680 contract. Leon stated the 1680 contract will be extended.
